Inspiration

Two roads diverged in a wood and I – I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

Robert Frost

The Psychology Perspective

We all meet crossroads at times. Decisions… Decisions… Decisions. But what are we to do.

I see a direct correlation between lack of direction the need people have to seek psychological services. We oftentimes get lost in our own quandaries, finding it difficult to make sense of the present because we are either too focused on the future results or walk backwards through the rabbit hole of a past that has already been.

What can we do?

The Crossroads is Opportunity in Action

Robert Frost draws our attention to the road less travelled. Two roads diverge in a wood, and what one do you want to undertake. One is quite possibly like a cragly pit of hell, filled with sharp slopes and unforgiving journeys. The other, beautiful valleys and pretty flours.

Which one is the most travelled?

Remember, the Rabbit Hole in Alice’s wonderful journey was found in the knothole of a beautiful tree in a shaded valley.

Our psychological development is dependent upon friction. It is dependent upon undertaking trauma and overcoming its effects. Any journey of Self Realized growth has at its foundation our inner ability to use consciousness to direct the movie of our life. Don’t shy away from challenges. Persevere despite them.

I thank the profound poet Robert Frost for this bit of information. It truly is an inspiring moment to look at the crossroads, and realize that when we take the road less travelled, we may face adversity and challenges, but these events make all the difference in a life lived with meaningful intent.

What’s your road less travelled?
