The Loving Light of a Smile

Inspiration

Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty

Mother Teresa

We shall never know all the good that a simple smile can do.

The Depth Psychology Perspective

I heard a news cast the other day that said the biggest problems facing the millennials, otherwise known as generation Y, is a global sense of loneliness. We are somehow becoming very interconnected via technological advancements, but the feeling of loneliness and despair is increasing at alarming rates…

Why? What are we to do?

Lets get back to basics. Let’s make friends in the here, the now, in the present moment and place we find ourselves within. Each and everyone of us has a community, that we can brighten with the love of our smile. Lets focus at least 51% of our time, working through the poverty our communities face, versus focusing on the problems communities face 1/2 a world away. If each and everyone of us focused on loving kindness in the moment and place we are at, the shift of energy to cure world problems would be exponential, phenomenal, and could not warrant true measurement.

The loving light of a smile breathes kindness, compassion, belonging, and a sense of welcome to the giver and the receiver. It opens the soul to make sense of the light and shadow it creates. Let us focus on making a difference where we are at, not where we have yet to be. Maybe then, we will see the true power that lies behind a global shift of conscious awareness.

Thank you Mother Teresa for your Saintly observations. You were a wonderfully wise woman, of pure heart and intent.

What is your intent?

Believe… Achieve… Advance Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams!

Thanks for sharing this. The growing epidemic of loneliness, and taking steps to turn that around, is something we need to remind ourselves of again and again.

Communicate from the inside. Don’t fear what others may perceive. Unfortunately, we seem to have created a world of very tiny boxes, each of us lonely within, but villages are present, even in the loneliness of the boxes we have created. Thank you 🙏🏻 for sharing your thought here.

Ever since that day he creates profiles in my name, writes stories and nags the very same people to read them. It is said that the wails of those people can still be heard at night.

Technology is indeed a certain paradox in such areas. While it does help in connecting people everywhere, the friendship and interacting within community is sometimes lost. Your inspiration series is like slices of the cake made up of positivity. Thank you for writing on such topics 🙂
