We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.

The Depth Psychology Perspective
We should never loose hope in our ability to change the future. However, the future changes through our personal action in the moment, which is ultimately grounded in a rich knowledge of the foundations of our past.
Many times, we get lost in our past. We try to negate it from existence, because it hurts. But this does the opposite of forming hope. It keeps us moving in the directions we have moved from. Instead, we must learn from our past. This provides us a foundation to solve the much needed problems that affect us in the present, which in turn creates the future vision we strive towards.
There is a secret intelligence in hope. Dreams form the foundation for the future we create. But these dreams must be grounded in the reality from which arose. They cannot negate the past, any more than they can find fruition without engaging in the work needed to make them become real.
