Inspiration: The Subtle Art of Knowing Nothing

The Philosopher’s Corner

On this day, I decided to change things up a little bit. It is good to sometimes throw a wrench into a well oiled machine. I was moved by poetry today, after watching a wonderful video By Wayne Dyer and listening to the accompanying audio book. As Pierre Teilhard de Chardin once said:

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.

Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

I felt moved by my inner spirit to engage writing a poem today. I know it is not perfect meter, but this came from within, moved me, and I hope it moves you too.

Reveries from Days Long Gone

Before I became what I am today, a long time ago, when I was in my doctoral studies, I told my professor, I have found out the secret to life… I told him that I had discovered that the more I know, the more I know not. I had discovered the true secret to philosophy and the universe. I had told him

I have found out that I know absolutely everything there is to know about absolutely nothing

I was on to something… except he looked me sternly in the eye, and said, Socrates. Ego inflates and deflates in the same moment. As Dr. Dyer said EGO (Edging God Out). Oops. I think I skipped that lesson in philosophy class. This is a true story, but one of paramount experience.

The more we move to realize that we know nothing, the more our glass is empty to see the subtle differences that can and often do make a profound difference in our Self-development.

Hope you enjoyed today’s tidbit of philosophy.

Enjoy the Moment with Gratitude, and Don’t forget to

Experience sometimes teaches us we know a lot less than we think. There is always a respite in try, try, again.
