Daily Inspiration

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’

Eleanor Roosevelt
Inspiration: Courage in the Face of Fear

The Philosopher’s Corner

Ah… my favorite subject. How to face fear. Today’s quote comes from a wonderfully historic Stateswoman, who was highly influential in her own right, even though it was her choice to be a driving force in her husband’s life. Eleanor Roosevelt truly knew the strength and tenacity needed to overcome fear, and her quote today shows the truth behind the glowing embers that can be produced by the simple act of letting go and facing one’s fears.

Strength is a product of mindset. However, it takes courage to overcome the complacency the mind sets as the standard. It is not that the mind is lazy. That statement is far from the truth. The mind is simply set up to keep you as an organism alive, therefore, complacent, in known environments that it feels it has control over. The strength behind success comes in that one moment you break free from that cave of complacency, face the internal and external fear present, look outside to see the light, and create a new norm for yourself.

This standard of creating new norms exists in the mind of every successful person. The great thing is, it is simple to enact. It only takes:
