Inspiration: The Magical World of Parenting

Practical Parenting

One day into a California Coronavirus lockdown, but one week into my new role as a home-school teacher. What a different world we seem to be living in these days.

Yesterday I went for a ride with my son. The freeways were not desolate, but the traffic was not bad. For some reason, the sky was more blue today, and things were much more calm. I did not see the plight of the road-raged individual scurrying to make it to work on time due to their own inability to awaken on time. I didn’t see what seems to be the ever present need people have to crowd in the line of cars awaiting to get to the freeway. It was peaceful… content… maybe something we should begin to value.

Yesterday I fixed a vacuum… not a head. It felt good. Taking tools into my hands and creating something newly working from broken parts. It’s been awhile since I could say that I found real joy in taking part in such a simple task. But it worked my mind in the right direction.

How can we use this to teach our children? As my video says, we must teach children ways to weather the storm. Our world is changing, and we must evolve with it. There are clear positives present even in the face of this pandemic. We have faith, love, support, and the tools needed to pull through this. But it is also a return to a simpler time, one in which our true freedom was fought for and won.

Should we focus on the pandemic? Only if it is directly affecting your life. I know that for many, it is, either directly or indirectly such as change in income, change in work status, or even a change in the entire lifestyle we have grown accustomed to. However, this disease does not discriminate, and affects each person equally. Let us pull together, not to further divide based upon differences present, but to mend those divisions in service to teach our children the true capacity of human potential.

We can and will raise the next generation… to find the light in any storm present.

With Love and Blessings from my End. Believe… Achieve… Advance Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams!
