Daily Inspiration

Most things are good, and they are the strongest things; but there are evil things too, and you are not doing a child a favor by trying to shield him from reality. The important thing is to teach a child that good can always triumph over evil.

Yesterday, I really enjoyed giving my video webinar Tending Your Mental Health During The Winds of Change… which was an exploration of practical parenting and mental health tips to implement during this time of forced isolation. The link is below, and I hope you enjoy the webcast.

Yesterday I got the greatest feedback that I ever received. It was from my wife. She stated, “you could tell where your foundation lies.”

Throughout much of the 30 minutes that I explored ways to tend to your mental health, the underlying foundation was centered on keeping children safe, healthy, and strong during this time of global uncertainty. While I know that many adults, young and old have growing anxiety from this time of complete uncertainty, the young look to their older counterparts to help them find a focal point, a place of grounding to set foot during unbalanced times; it is our primary duty as adults during times like this to grow up and take responsibility so that we can give the next generation hope for the future.

Walt Disney was a very practical man that strove for perfection in the imaginary products he produced. But he was also a man that brought the best out of people. He would encourage imagination boards where he would examine all ideas, test them within the context of a vision, and create a new reality from which there was once nothing.

The Power of Creation in action.

During that time, there existed differences of opinion. There also existed deep divides between the ways people viewed the propensity of life. It wasn’t different back then, than it is now. Although values shifted since the time of Walt’s life and death, the propensity of people to find middle ground did not disappear, unless in fact we allow the divisive nature of EGO (Edging God Out) to take over the capacity we have to mend any physical divide present.

As Matthew McConaughey stated, we are dealing with an enemy that is bi-partisan, non-discriminatory, and will attack anyone regardless of race, gender, political, or religious belief. Yes, coming to middle ground will cause some scarification to take place, but behind every scar is one hell of a story.

What stories will we pass on to our children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. My grandparents were asked to go to a great war, we are asked to stay home and not allow this virus to become a greater pandemic than it already has become.

Stay safe everyone, tend to your mental health. You are in my prayers and blessings, and don’t forget to
