Hope is an integral part of our human journey. It’s nature is dependent upon the future, which links it to our capacity to dream life forward. But it’s foundation is built upon past successes, which if there are few, can impede a person’s belief in themselves to transcend what is in order to achieve what can become.
This is a philosophical conundrum. If we are built upon the foundation of our past, and yes, no one had absolute control over the childhood they were given, then is our future journey to be wrought with the same dramatic scenarios we have toiled to overcome time and time again from the past?
No!
Hope is a perspective. It is a belief pattern held within. As Victor Hugo says, hope is a word that God has placed on the brow of every person. Why the brow? It is the third eye, that element of etherial creative power that allows us to dream life forward, rather than just pick apart the elements of the past.
Don’t get me wrong, picking apart the past is also a key element to get where we are at in the present… Being an analytical psychotherapist, tapping into past trauma ultimately unleashes its effect on our current moment. This provides a doorway, a glimpse of opportunity from which we can emerge to a present focus. But focus on what? Just this moment?
No! The focus shifts towards new belief patterns of the emerging Self seen as a master navigator versus victim of the life we wish to create. It shifts us to tend to the elements of our dreams.
Through the process of dreaming life forward, we shift those new inner beliefs of hope towards the future stories you wish to create. Through a life well lived, you can and will move others in the wake you create through you own personal fulfillment journey.
