Values… The Foundation of Moral Character

Inspiration

There is a fundamental question we all have to face. How are we to live our lives; by what principles and moral values will we be guided and inspired?

Our character is what we do when we think no one is looking.

A Father’s Guide to Wisdom

There is a deep craving for wisdom these days. We have a rapidly deteriorating society that is thrown through an educational ringer; but to what end? Skills are being lost. More jobs are in China than available to men and women that need them here. Even my 10 year old son made an acute observation. He said, Papa, it seems that we are currently in a state of regression, what he termed “d-evolving” instead of evolving.

Why is this the case?

So today, I turned today to some good old Southern Wisdom to find inspiration. H. Jackson Brown Jr. offers profound insight into the nature of life’s complex problems that truly have simple answers. “By what principles and moral values will we be guided and inspired” today.

You see, one’s moral compass is the foundation of their character, and it is from one’s character that reality emerges. Give me a despondent character, I will show you a despondent outcome. Give me a grounded and determined character with a clear vision, I will show you a successful outcome. For these individuals, the sky is the only limitation present for the success they crave. And even this delimitation has been shown to be untrue in last weeks re-launch of the space program.

See what happens here, limitations are not dependent on one’s external circumstances. This is a delusion promoted by individual needs to be accepted… to be liked… to be seen by the collective. It is a social experiment with who can be most popular. It is power hungry at its core. It is a lazy man or woman’s way out for the true nature of what needs to be done in order to grow the soul exponentially.

This last week seems to be an exercise of mass hysteria. How much attention can I gain by doing something negative… by creating shock factor… by creating chaos instead of harmony? Disease is now thrown to the wind, even by medical professionals in Washington State. It remains illegal to come within social distances from people, unless, of course you protest, then the rules of disease somehow cease to exist. Does this make sense? Any wise person knows that this is not the case.

But what we see here is a mass movement of individuals seized by an external locus of control. In the media, I see thousands of infantile minded individuals engage in psychotic behaviors all while pointing camera’s at themselves engaging in crimes against property and humanity. Crimes, the outcome of which has affected businesses of friends that are again forced to shut down after barely being able open.

Instead, there is a way out from this moral turpitude. Moral compass is built from within. But it takes great work. Yes… I said that four letter word that many would deny it efficacy on transitioning the soul. But the only free fish has at its core a great cost. If you learn to fish, there is true freedom to be found. On the first hand, something is given out of charity… but that breeds complacency… but to what end. On the second hand, if a skill is taught, this allows inner roads of wisdom to emerge; these skills develops one’s capacity attain any goal that they would see fit.

So instead of handing out the fish, let’s build communities upon which skills are taught. Dialogue is key here, but it must have vision. Without a vision based upon the foundation of values and moral compassion, you only have di-vision, which in itself is a process of the death (to die) of a vision.

What are your thoughts?

With many prayers and blessings my friends. Until next time, I hope that you Believe… Achieve… Advance Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams.
