Imagine: A World in Love… Living for Today

Inspiration

There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.

A Father’s Guide to Wisdom

Join the dark side… We have cookies! I saw this on a shirt the other day, and it made me think. How far have we come from even basic levels of common sense, where morals are ousted for simple material gain.

I have focused on the words and wisdom of John Lennon this week. Why? Because there is a brilliance in the words of wisdom he shares. He brings everything down to a position of love, hope, belief in something greater then what exists in the hear and now. He was a force to be reckoned with, and his words of positivity generally promoted happiness and hope, which is a far cry from what I see promoted these days.

There are two forces at play. Love and fear; and they are not that different. For fear, is a natural state that arises from love. But fear leads to one of two outcomes, as Mr. Lennon alludes to in the above passage. It creates the need for flight or paralysis. This is the opposite of living. However, its paradoxical opposite allows for movement to take place, creating avenues from which passion, excitement, and even acceptance can manifest.

Psychology and mythology have long known the dual nature of God. And in this dilemma, this almighty source of all seems to a tricky sense of humor. But then again, it seems that even in our moral slip up in the Garden, that almighty entity still loved the imperfections present in the creation, and gave us love to help cure its afflictions.

The message here is clear. We need to love our imperfections, love ourselves, before we can fully open our inner potential to be something greater than what is in this present moment. To do this, we must embrace fear, and step into what seems to be an almost foreign path from what popular media portrays as the new norm. What I see here is a need to embrace a healthy respect for life. Yes, all life, not just simply death and the fear it creates. I will end with a wise saying from a woman that knew the power of love and the saintliness is creates.

If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.
