What’s Your Faithful Intent: Conflict… Peace… and Inner Growth

Inspiration

We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.

Dalai Lama

Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

A Father’s Guide to Wisdom

“You are what you eat…” My mother told me this as a young child. Maybe that is why I developed a weight problem early on. But it is in that battle that I have also found great sources of strength, wisdom, compassion, empathy, and even a little tenacity from my early years of being bullied as a youth. More to come on the weight loss journey later. For now, this saying will take on a greater meaning, as it relates to the information we feed ourselves daily.

Something is afoul. Humanity’s shadow is amplifying itself as the light of life seems to dwindle further away from our grasp. Hatred and anger are preached with the intent of creating a loving and more accepting world. But to what extent?

What an interesting fallacy we have adopted. How will this affect our children? What beauty will our grandchildren bare witness to, as they inherit a world that was sowed with seeds of hatred, planted with the intent to promote loving-kindness?

Their world will be bleaker, even less tolerable than the world we find ourselves currently living. You cannot sow seeds of war and hate with ideals of extending olive branches of peace and love. This philosophy is the equivalent of planting an apple seed with the intent of growing an orange tree… It simply will not work, no matter how much belief, amplification, science, or nurturing statistics you throw its way.

This philosophy constitutes the archetypal shadow. Its sole purpose is to consume the light of life within. It feeds upon the past to generate feelings of personal understanding, creating the purgatory and hell we must break through to find the paradise of light within. To go within and to cultivate the shadow within creates the fundamental inner peace needed to create outer peace in the world. This inner peace cannot be attained through hatred but must be sowed with the divine seeds of loving light gifted to us through consciousness and our abilities to find a higher purpose.

With love, blessings, and many prayers… Believe… Achieve… Advance Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams!
