A Day in the Life… To Realize Self

Inspiration

Thoroughly unprepared, we take the step into the afternoon of life. Worse still, we take this step with the false presupposition that our truths and our ideals will serve us as hitherto. But we cannot live the afternoon of life according to the program of life’s morning, for what was great in the morning will be little at evening and what in the morning was true, at evening will have become a lie.

Carl Gustav Jung

A Father’s Guide to Wisdom

A wise man once said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a first step. This wisdom has been mirrored through the ages and stands as a cornerstone for all successful endeavors we ever develop the courage to undertake.

As a young man, I became acutely aware of E.G.O., or that natural tendency to Edge God Out. Whether it be the university, the natural increase of testosterone found during adolescent life, or the machismo associated with some form of young adult angst, I became conscious of my being and began a slow descent into the unconscious recesses of my mind.

Like many young adults, I cut myself from God. The knowledge base I began to assume during the university left no room for God’s presence and wisdom to be a guiding force in my life. Creativity was snuffed out of existence, and the cold scalpel of scientific scrutiny began to overtake my life. But to what end?

To develop an ego is solely the beginning. It provides the springboard from which the afternoon of life can reunite us to the creative source, that wellspring of spiritual knowledge that remains present but was dormant due to the rules common to the morning of life.

Let us look upon this journey as a whole. Let’s cultivate Self, whether that journey is one day or 100 years. What will you do with your day? With prayers and blessings my friends. May you believe, achieve, and advance confidently in the direction of your dreams.
