To New Beginnings… Instruments of God’s Way

Inspirational Quote

You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.

― C.S. Lewis

A Father’s Guide to Wisdom

In today’s quote, we will examine the concepts of perseverance and the need to overcome the odds that life throws our way. For adults, life has afforded us many opportunities to get it right. Even if one has not to this very day, tomorrow starts anew, and one can always change life’s course right here, now. For those who have made it past the summit and can see the greener grass on the other side, success is now at hand, and hard-earned. Congratulations on that feat of accomplishment!

Mistakes

To err is human, even if life is as short-lived as one day. Welcome to life. The human capacity to make errors is the way the brain learns. Nevertheless, there are apparent differences between the child’s brain that can accept and learn from mistakes, and the adult brain that fears mistakes. At a critical point in life, not entirely defined by age but by adopting personal beliefs, we lose the golden ball, and shortly after that, lose the essence of our childhood bliss. Why is this the case?

Naturally, as we age, one begins to see the negative consequences associated with the mistakes made. We learn from such socially normed practices that mistakes are associated with failure or even worse social ostracization.

School teaches us to fail the “F,” even though that failing grade may mean you got a simple majority of the problems right. To instill fear is not wrong; for a school’s purpose is to indoctrinate the next generation into a belief system that fosters individual growth towards a collective aim. However, in adult life, this does not work. The same rules that work for the child do not work for the adult, and as adults, we must learn to turn the tides of those inner fears upon themselves so that the willingness to persevere can take front and center stage.

A Conscious Conclusion

What can we do with mistakes? Learn from them. Our development is dependent upon this simple concept. God does not care so much for what we have done as much as the direction we are going. What lies in the past pales in comparison to the light held in the individual’s heart. When that angel and demon takes its place on the shoulders of the conscious giant they wish to influence, this is where the direction of one’s choice can lead to heights never before realized. What direction to take? The decision is there for the awaiting soul to realize.

Namaste, my friends. May your life journey bring you prayers and blessings as you strive to believe, achieve, and advance confidently in the direction of your dreams.
