The Infinite Wisdom of Abundance

Inspirational Quote

When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

Paulo Coelho

A Depth Psychology Perspective

I begin and end my day with prayer. It is a powerful token of gratitude, the foundational element of abundance. But abundance is not solely about receiving. For it is in the pure heart, the intent soul, and open mind that Self moves you to reach those destined heights known only to the private recesses of your dreams and God’s plan. We ask to receive, but what do we give back in return? It is in our willingness to give and to receive that God’s miracles abound.

When I first got married, my wife gave me a copy of Paulo Coelho’s (The Alchemist). At that time, I studied psychology’s depths in a Ph. D. program and had little time to pleasure read. So there it sat, collecting dust on my bookshelf. What an ass of a move on my part. But my wife remained patient and would listen, as I would go on for hours about the depths the soul has in its quest to make meaning in the life it creates. Here we were, newly married, looking to realize our dreams together, yet for some reason, I could not bend myself to read this gift of a book she had given. Little did I know, it was not a gift of a book that she had in mind, but it was a gift of perspective she had given me.

I am a firm believer in God’s willingness to enact miracles in our life daily. He introduced me to my wife, brought forward the beauty of my family, and even assured a proper upbringing, even though I had my moments. These are gifts of heart, something the soul yearns for, as it strives to undertake its journey called life. The most interesting part, when the heart and head align, when soul and self-being unite, I see the alchemy of Paulo Coelho’s words spring forth from the ether of the philosophical mind to reality of the life created. What a powerful magic Coelho exposes us to if we would only listen.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Many eyes go through the meadowbut few see the flowers in it.” Are we just blinded to the nature of the miracles that surround us? Please open your eyes, see a flower, hell, maybe even pick one and smell the beauty of the miracle in its creation.

Happy Friday my friends. May abundance find you this weekend and all weeks to come on your journey to believe, achieve, and advance confidently in the direction of your dreams.

  1. Yep, every morning, on my way to work, i see butterflies. It’s almost become a habit now, that if i don’t see one, i feel as if something’s missing. I love watching them for their beautiful colors.
