To Be a Good Father: The Myth of Daedalus and Icarus

How can we as fathers successfully channel our children’s natural source of energy towards productive means? I believe that is the vocation any parent worth their weight will undertake to ask, as we strive to create for the next generation a world myth more suited for the nuances of life we now see unfolding before us. In today’s podcast, I continue exploring the Myth of Daedalus and his playful son Icarus. While tragic, Icarus’s active flights of fancy have valuable insights into the nature of how men should teach their son’s from a place of lived experience. By calling upon men to explore their souls’ inner depths, we will set the stage for lived action versus the do as I say, not as I do mentality so typical in today’s parents.
