The Beauty Within: Honoring a Psychology of Arriving…

Inspirational Quote

It is the beauty within us that makes it possible for us to recognize the beauty around us. The question is not what you look at but what you see.

― Henry David Thoreau

Philosophical Food For Thought

Our mind’s eye filters the perceived reality we create. I should have (fill in the blank), versus I could. Tell yourself these two little phrases: what one brings a sense of comfort? What one elicits a sense of guilt? A shift in wording can create an entirely new experience, allowing consciousness to arise from a sense of wonderment and curiosity, which differs vastly from the distressing feeble-mindedness Freud identified as the average adult’s psychological content.

What a distressing contrast there is between the radiant intelligence of the child and the feeble mentality of the average adult.

Sigmund Freud

A radiant intelligence is present in the mind’s eye of a child’s inner potential. They see the world in a way that adults have forgotten. They get it. The world is their playground to explore. While they strive, they are also in an open perspective of arrival. Are we there yet is their question. For them, there is no differentiation between the present moment and the dream they yearn to experience. Their sense of excitement is unknown, yet there is also a degree of beauty to be seen in the patience developed through the adult’s wisdom. Maybe through a combination of the two perspectives, we can make sense of the beauty of life that surrounds us and get back to a practice that honors those content feelings associated with the inner peace we all yearn to create.

When self and Self unite, when the present image meets that image of the divine aspect of Self you yearn to create, what sense of beauty will be looking at you? The question is not about what you look at, but what you see is looking back at the endpoint of the journey you created.

Namaste, my friends. May blessings find you on your journey to advance confidently in the direction of your dreams.
