Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity.

I am often baffled by the lack of gratitude I see. Can this single issue be a root cause for all the suffering we see?

At an internal level, lacking gratitude can create envy, jealousy, anger, hatred, self-loathing, and other negative feelings. This is because gratitude generates from a place of wholeness. We have this moment, right here and now; what possibility to create at this moment? Take a breath. If you can’t be grateful for the very breath you have just taken, what can you feasibly be thankful for? While this is commonly seen with individuals suffering from mental disorders, this type of thinking need not be the case!

What is present, here, now, and shows beauty in your life? Maybe it is the very breath you have at this moment. The pandemic we have all gone through can definitely establish this as a reality. What is your alternative for this breath? Death? We will all face that someday, but what can you do to create a storyline you wish to leave behind with your next breath? Let’s begin there!

The art of practicing gratitude opens highways for the soul to find acceptance, order, clarity, and direction from that inner voice that yearns for attention. That voice is your conscience. It acts as a beacon of rational intelligence that tells you right from wrong. It also creates the storyline that Self emerges. Who do you want to become? What is needed to get there? This is the fullness of life unfolded. Take that one moment to soak it all in, realize there is enough, accept what was, and enjoy the clarity of order present when we let go and let God!

Namaste, my friends. May blessings find you on your journey of gratefulness.
