I thought we were discussing. There is always an amplification of sorts that occurs when we explore area in the shadow. I have come to believe, for whatever that is worth, that there is light and shadow in any construct. At least material constructs that is. I do not think the binary nature language allows us the capacity to see those underlying enantiodromias that play out in the spiritual realm yet find a home here in the present moment. The Joey is to hold the tension to 🧑🎓 the glowing ember that burns with passion at the bottom of the ash heap. The ash is real, but so too is the ember.
History is full of this. That is why it is so imperative to work it from a hermeneutic and not just let it die under the ashes.
I believe that it can only be a discussion when the others points are addressed. Until that happens there is no interplay and no chance of finding the middle way.
I seems to me you are trying to put the meaning of the Taoist symbol into words. Not sure that can be done. Some things can only be expressed physically. The Lotus and the Smile come to mind.
Please allow me to reiterate my understanding of the fable. The Sun and Wind are not opposites. Both are cruel and seek to inflict pain on an innocent to prove their power. If they are father figures they are cruel fathers. Perhaps they are more tyrannical than loving.

That could be. That is the power of archetypes, the only limit they have is by the ones our consciousness projects upon them. Thank you for sharing!
I had hoped for a discussion so that we might find the middle ground. However it is your blog and your choice.
Not wishing to insult any of the masters I’ll just stand on the ground. But a couple of thoughts. First, the New testament and the Jewish scriptures follow the same God. Even Jesus has his wrathful moments. Secondly, ‘there’s nothing new under the sun.’ Third, Sun and ice may be opposites but I don’t see sun and wind being opposites. As for your understanding that the sun somehow represents a kind loving father… The sun caused the traveler a lot of pain and suffering. Just some thoughts from an old man who was a pastor back in the day and now tries to follow the middle way.
