Words of Inspiration

Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for.

Epicurus

Psychological Tidings

One of the greatest gifts humankind has is the capacity to hope. Yet, this can be a double edged sword without its counterpart: gratitude.

When we are in a state of gratitude, we see the little things in life that create a sense of further gratitude to be present. When harmony intercedes at a cognitive level, we create realities capable of seeing more to be grateful for. Yet, when thoughts take us through Stevenson’s hourglass into the knotty hole of the willow, things seem dissonant, not in order, and ready to buy for our proverbial head.

Sound familiar. Yes, we have all stepped into those moments of despair, where one wrong move leads to a daytime of unfortunate events. It is in this metaphysical world of possibility that Epicurus turns our minds to examine. Look at the immediate moment. Where are you? What are you doing? Who are you with? How are you feeling? When did you chose to manifest this moment into reality?

Yes, it too was once only a thought, a habit, or maybe even a dream that brought you here to this moment of life. What can you do with its grandeur.

Namaste my friends. May blessings find you on your journey to advance confidently in the direction of your dreams.
