Parenting Words of Wisdom

“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

Parenting from the Heart

What child should not hear these words daily? However, the problem, as I see it, is that we have been taught primarily from a material perspective. When more is greater, and there is only so much that we can do on any given day, what gives when the one element we lack the most comes to collect its principal for the time owed? This is the crux for all development, even in such fields as psychology which attempts to create inroads for positivity and effective parenting techniques to be employed from the heart.

Time is a beautiful concept. It ticks away to sorrow, and how it leaves a trail of grief behind in its wake. Yet we march on, on, and on to the beat of our independent drum. Yet frequently, we forget those most dependent on us.

This phenomenon seems new. I don’t remember hearing of past generations who lacked time to raise their children. I believe this is due to a cultural war against parents. No, not in a paranoid sense. I see a shadow of a culture unrelenting to the value of making a quick dollar at the expense of teaching functional independence of thought aside from the psychology of the herd.

As parents, we need to be wary of this phenomenon. The more likes something attains does not necessarily mean it is the right decision in a moral sense. No, it is our job as parents to engage our children’s developmental journey and participate in the wonder that is their growing experience. If we don’t, who else will raise our children. If we don’t, to what lessons will they be subjected.

Take one moment, and bless your child today. Bless them for just being the most incredible son or daughter on earth. Not because they did something grand but because they woke up an extraordinary human being. How many of us could benefit from just a little encouragement like that when we awaken?

It would seem Christopher Robin has some wisdom well beyond his years here. To say this to an imaginary childhood friend, a beautiful bear who had his back during the remarkable mishaps childhood affords, who could ever ask for a better pep-talk?

What words of encouragement do your children need to hear from you today. Tell them now, not later, and see how they light up from the interaction.

Many blessings, my friends. May your journey be filled with light, wonder, and happiness as you advance confidently in the direction of your dreams. Goodbye for now.
