Inspirational Words of Wisdom

The big question is whether you are going to be able to say a hearty yes to your adventure.

Joseph Campbell

A Philosophy for Personal Development

Even in my youngest years, I craved adventure and the wonder of the lessons it provides. As a psychotherapist, I understand just how much potential arises when you allow the mind a little room for imagination to set a destination for a wondrous journey.

The mythologist, and a man I consider a mentor, even though I have never met him, Joseph Campbell, draws attention to the fact that we need to say a hearty yes to the adventures our psyche imagines. You see, psyche is not an element of the mind, but an element of soul. As the video that touches on the wonderous and beautiful history of Ancient and Modern Egypt suggests, we need at times to imagine the destination, chart the course, and take flight like the God Horus, to create room for inner development.

What adventure calls upon you? Have you given it room to impregnate the fertile ground of your soul’s intent? Maybe by doing so, and creating some mile markers for your progress towards its fruition, potential for inner development and strength of character may arise.

Until next time my friends. May blessings find you on your adventure to advance confidently in the direction of your dreams. Goodbye for now.
