A Seed of Hope… What will Tomorrow Bring?

A Father’s Guide to Practical Parenting

In this week’s inspiration, I turn my focus to the next generation. For it is in our children that we realize the essence of our life journey. I believe that it is a fundamental human need to see our children have a fantastic future. But it is up to us to create that momentum moving forward. As President Kennedy said, children are the living messages of a dream we push forward, without ever knowing the true extent of what they will realize.

There is some real wisdom here if we break it down.

Children are the stewards of the future we wish to unfold. They inherit the works we undertake. It is up to us to ground that work into a solid foundation that allows them to soar to those lofty heights of the dreams they wish to realize. De-stabilize the foundation, and the tower will fall. Build the foundation strong, and the structure will rise to heights never before dreamed.

Optimism and pessimism are two poles present in our world. But one’s perspective is always a choice. Maybe if we sew seeds of hope instead of despair, the foundation will again stand firm, based upon a cornerstone of values and ethics we can move forward. If we build the foundation on the shifting sands of the present moment, what heights do you see feasible?

As Henry Ward Beecher said, children are the hands by which we take ahold of heaven. Teach them well, and they will realize heights not even thought possible.

Namaste, my friends. May prayers and blessings find you along your journey to believe, achieve, and advance confidently in the direction of your dreams.
