What Strange Treasures Lie Within…

Inspirational Quote

The universe buries strange jewels deep within us all, and then stands back to see if we can find them. The hunt to discover those jewels––that’s creative living.

― Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear

A Gift of Universal Proportions

We genuinely are heavenly beings having a human experience. What if we all opened our eyes to the nature of that divine experience held within each of us. Imagine the ramifications that would have on our life, love, liberty and the pursuit of passions we undertake with those most loved by us. Maybe this was the undertone behind John Lennon’s musings when he laid the simple framework calling for a return to humanity in his song Imagine. The jewel provided him shined bright enough to light the path for generations, and even some 40 years after his death, his words still ring true.

I ran across this beautiful quote from best-selling author Elizabeth Gilbert, creator of the hit book Eat, Pray, Love. What a lovely concept. What foods are we blessed to receive, that nurture our body’s intent to undertake that arduous journey we call love? How often do we give thanks for those small things, like the simple cup of coffee, that I have unfortunately forgot to make as I type these words. Gratitude is a novel concept, a binding agent for all that was and forever will be. However, most often, we forget to examine the beauty of those hidden jewels found within. But what a treasure these jewels hold for the willing participant who will unearth their presence in the soul.

The Depths of our psyche calls upon us to unite the self we create to the higher form of Self- Realized consciousness that was our inner gold or jewel we strive to unearth. As we mature, we lose that form of Self-Realized consciousness. This loss subsequently creates a distance between ourselves and the imaginative treasures given to us as a birthright.

Eat, Pray, Love. What a beautifully simple way of showing thanks. Again, thank you to my muse for today, Elizabeth Gilbert, who showed me that with a little Magic, we could all live beyond the fears that will bury those jewels deep within us.

Namaste, my friends. May prayers and blessings find you on your journey to believe, achieve, and advance confidently in the direction of your dreams.
