Inspiration
Upon awakening, let the words Thank You flow from your lips, for this will remind you to begin your day with gratitude and compassion.
Dr. Wayne Dyer
A Depth Psychology Perspective
The longest night of the year has now passed, and daylight arises. As the prolific author, clergyman, and English historian Thomas Fuller once said, “it is said that the darkest hour of the night comes just before the dawn.” While we may have just experienced the darkest night of the year, somehow, the welcoming of light seems even more magical after the dark nature of what the world has experienced in 2020.
I am not here to write a depressing tome of what 2020 was not. However, in honoring its presence, we can see the fundamental nature of the lessons learned and utilize these to create the life we wish to attain in 2021. As Winter establishes itself and Spring moves upon its heels, what buds of knowledge can we take from this year of high highs and low lows?
For me, FOCUS has become the most paramount ideal this year has taught. The idea of time has presented itself as a worthy adversary, and one that I was forced to take account of in this year of wisdom earned. As I look upon my now growing out hair and see the white and gray littered liberally amongst what used to be golden brown locks, I realize that the summer of life may now be waning, causing me to examine the need to amplify my efforts to care for my health, wealth, and happiness. This has manifested itself in my writing and, more importantly, how I approach the nature of the businesses I tend. As Jesus alludes to, we are all shepherds in the journey called life.
During this Christmas season, I want to thank all who have read. 2020 was an awesome year. I expect 2021 will be better, even if it will look a little different. Like life, a blog must adapt to fit the continued growth of its creator, and my growth is taking me back to the origins of my academic beginnings. Largely, by being lost in a flurry of research, I returned home to understand the symbolic means by which mythology, fairytale, and religion speak to the holistic nature of the soul’s attempt to find its way home.
Thank you for sticking with me this year. It has been a truly enriching experience. While the blog will look a little different next year, I promise it will not disappoint. I intend to explore the psyche’s inner depths from the symbolic perspective that drives the soul to realize its true nature. In short, I am returning to my roots in analytical psychology to explore the structure, nature, and dynamics of the journey we undertake to make meaning in our life. I thank you for joining me along this journey.
Namaste, my friends. May God and Blessings find you on your journey to Believe, Achieve, and Advance Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams.
