Inspiration: The Possibility Behind Belief

The Philosopher’s Corner

Greetings fellow travelers. Today’s inspiration comes from three sources. I chose to use these sources, because each in their own way show the true source of infinite intelligence present through the simple act of belief and having a little faith in that which is unknown.

These great leaders and artists of their time touch upon a fundamental lesson humanity must redevelop. Belief in itself to overcome the difficulties present and advance confidently in the directions we seek to manifest for the generations of the future.

Having worked in mental health, I have seen the after-effects of a generation raised without belief in something greater. I have seen first hand how the lack of faith in something greater causes the ill effects of depression and anxiety within a listless soul that has yet to see hope in something greater than life can afford us. While the essence of our mental and emotional health can never be summed up in just one concept, an underpinning that is definitely present in all disorders is a lack of hope, a lack of faith, and a disbelief in the capacity we have to overcome that which will hold us down.

Isn’t it time we begin to break these chains. They are constrains only of our own mind. Today’s inspiration comes from a wonderful First Lady, who supported her husband through severe times of physical decay that would ultimately take his life… however, even in such adversity, he continued to lead the country to greatness despite the division the world underwent at that time. The second quote of inspiration comes from that Gentle Giant, who reminded us at the time, to “walk small and carry a big stick.” Lastly, who would not find a source of inspiration from that bard of ancient times, who reminds us of the true power belief has on directing the soul.

Thank you for reading fellow travelers.
