Inspiration

Imagination… To Do the Impossible!

Start by doing what’s necessary; then do what’s possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible.

Francis of Assisi

The power of imagination makes us infinite.

John Muir

The Philosopher’s Corner

As a young boy, I remember the day that John Lennon died. I don’t know why I remember it so vividly. I was watching a small tube TV in the kitchen with my grandmother cooking breakfast, and on came the morning news announcing that John Lennon was shot and killed at his apartment building in New York City. Being the curious 4 year old that I was, I asked “who is he.” I was so captivated that someone could be shot in the first place, had yet to fully understand the concept of death in general, and strove to figure out why this event would be so important as to interrupt my morning cartoons.

I was only 4!

My grandmother cried and explained to me who he was; yet I did not fully understand the nature of his loss. It would only be much later, after being exposed to the beauty of the music he made both in The Beatles and as a solo artist, that I would truly understand the brevity of his loss.

Imagine…

The power of imagination truly links us to the infinite. Only through delimiting beliefs, do we cut ourselves off from the greatness and infinite source that is God. This is the gift we were given through consciousness; yet unfortunately, because it is in our possession, we oftentimes fail to cherish its true essence.

To link ourselves with the divine is simple. It is already there. It never left, even though you may have began wayfaring journeys to explore other shores of your life. This is the underlying belief that St. Francis of Assisi proclaims about the nature of miracles. They are there, right at our fingertips. Just start it. Just Do It. Start with what is necessary and then do what is possible… and maybe, with just a little imagination and faith, you will soon be doing the impossible.

To all my Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Taoist, Wiccan, Agnostic, and Atheist friends… Thank You for Your Friendship and Support. We may have differing or competing beliefs, but I cherish the ways you make me feel, think, act, and grow. May the Divine source of your beliefs be with you on your journey to find completion. Let us do each other a favor today. Let us awaken a little imagination within, inspire another, and aspire to make one thing possible that was seen as impossible.

With Prayers and Blessings my Friends. Believe… Achieve… Advance Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams!
