We are planning creatures. Our consciousness calls upon us to dream life forward. Yet, in its eternal battle to create stability, it also reminds us of those deep wounds that powerfully affected our past. Why is this the case?
The psychology of the individual dictates this. If the storyline of Genesis is right, this gift came to us by an act of insubordination. An act of thievery lies at the foundation of our consciousness development. Just as Adam and Eve partook in the forbidden fruit offered by the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, we too are beckoned to steal the key to our consciousness development.
The idea of consciousness stands at the pinnacle of scientific and religious debate. Yet this powerful but simple building block of humanity’s capacity to think, reason, feel, and introspect forms a robust foundation for the life that will be lead. While infinite paths may be present at birth, what direction one focuses on will ultimately dictate the life path undertaken. Upon what dreams do you want to focus on your life’s journey?
A gift of consciousness is present at birth. If nurtured correctly, this consciousness arises, flourishes, and provide fruits of wisdom and a lifetime of stories to encourage the soul’s yearning essence. These storylines not only affect us, but they also affect the journey of loved ones with whom we share the journey of life.
We are born with a gift from God. What we do with it becomes the gift we give back. What story do you want for your last day?
