I don’t dream at night, I dream at day, I dream all day; I’m dreaming for a living.Steven Spielberg
Food For Thought… A Depth Psychology Perspective
The power that dreams have is paramount. As Mr. Spielberg says, they are not just movie dramas that play out in the head during our sleeping hours. Instead, as Sigmund Freud knew all too well, they represent the “royal road to the unconscious.” Carl Jung went one step further, showing that dreams have the power to awaken the soul’s inner depths.
Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.Carl Gustav Jung
Imagine the possibilities. Are they finite or limited? Let us not create limits to the imagination. We may be the sum of our history, but this does not stop us from engaging the very gift of consciousness God affords us. Dream, but dream big. Why not? What do you have to lose? With a little imagination, some planning, and a lot of work, what bad can come of this profound yet straightforward exercise?
Namaste, my friends. May the blessing of your dreams find fruition as you learn to believe, achieve, and advance confidently in the direction of your dreams.
