An Affirmation of Wholeness
A Mindfulness Meditation
In today’s affirmation, we look at the simple truth behind being whole, well, and complete in this moment. Take a moment to reflect upon the beauty of the images seen in the video. Let it transport you into the stillness yet the vibrancy of life associated with the water’s eternal beauty. When you are ready, let us begin a short exercise into letting go of all that is weighing upon you, so you can get to this moment, be here and now, and just be.
Take a deep breath in, hold for three seconds, then let it go. Breathe through your nose with each inhale, and with each exhale, let it flow through your mouth. Good. Let’s do this four times, so we can begin to let go of the day. When ready, just start to breathe in a regular rhythm, but find the count of that breath, making sure it is continuous with no pause between inhale and exhale. Vice versa.
Choose a focal point. This is your journey; you can choose to focus on whatever you want. Just focus on something relaxing that doesn’t require thought and helps you to let go. Maybe it is the Mindfulness Affirmation video listed above.
If you get very comfortable in the exercise, let your eyes gently close. Maybe you have music on, and you let that music carry you away. Even your breath may begin to match the rhythm of the song. That is good. This is you getting into tune with the natural flowing state of your life. Do this for 3, 4, or even 5 minutes if you can. If a thought arises, just observe it and let it pass, like you watch traffic flow past you. Your thoughts and feelings are like cars; they simply flow by you. The key is to not get into them, and they too will pass, just as the emotional currents in your body will too eventually pass. When you are ready, open your eyes. You have successfully taken one step to decrease your daily stress, and become whole, well, and complete in this moment.
