You have power over your mind – not outside events. Realize this, and you will find strength.
That which does not kill us makes us stronger.
The Philosopher’s Corner
We have power over one thing… Our mind!
Yesterday my wife asked me a question regarding what she could say to another family member that is going through a tough time.
I told her “there is no right or wrong thing you can say, if it comes from the heart.” As long as there is no malicious intent, words will not hurt. What people want most is not words of healing, but to be heard. It is in this that we find true strength.
You have the power over your mind. Not external events. You cannot control how another person feels. I know, this may seem contraindicated, especially coming from a therapist.
Professionally, I see that many people come to me seeking answers. There is no given answer that will solve any or all problems. Instead, look inside, see the lesson present, engage it, and actively work it through. This is the essence of true strength and grit in action.
As Nietzsche said, that which does not kill us, makes us stronger. Come from a source of strength like this, and begin to see a flow of abundance you can readily give to others.
Believe… Achieve… Advance Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams.
One response to “Inspiration: Grit… Strength… & Being Mindful”
So true! “What people want most is not words of healing, but to be heard. It is in this that we find true strength.” Thanks for reminding us of this.
