I laugh when I hear that the fish in the water is thirsty. I laugh when I hear that people go on pilgrimage to find God.

A Father’s Guide to Wisdom

I came across the above citation from the Indian mystic poet and saint Kabir while listening to Dr. Wayne Dyer’s phenomenal work Change Your Thoughts – Change Your Life: Living the Wisdom of the Tao. I found it funny, to say the least, and wanted to share it with you today as a source of gratitude for all of my readers as well as to bring a little humor to a very complex subject. I hope you enjoyed the wisdom from Saint Kabir Das.

Why is it that we complicate the very simple truths? In Genesis, it foretells that humanity is created in God’s image. This simple inkling of knowledge appears in all spiritual traditions. Yet like many obstinate children, we turn our back on the holiness that is found within after partaking in the fruit that bears consciousness as its consequence. But to what end?

Are we any better off in a world in which “God is dead.” As German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche once found, in doing so, we became the “murderers of all murderers,” watching what was bleed under the scrutiny of a consciousness that would assume that degree of holiness itself. In a world that bases itself upon the insanity that is the human condition, there is little hope to be found.

So what alternatives do we have? One area that I see as somewhat off is this need to see God as something external. If God is all that was, is, and ever will be, there is a link present to this holy source that can ultimately move the spirit from within. It is in this holy place that hope is nurtured. It is in this holy place that dreams find their transformational reality. To find God, shouldn’t we then turn within to nurture that holy essence to its higher form?

With many prayers and blessings my friends. Believe… Achieve… Advance Confidently in the Direction of Your Dreams.
