A Dream is But a Dream…

Inpirational Words of Wisdom…

I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?

A Philosopher’s Stone

There is something extraordinary in these words. They gently remind us that the doors to what is perceived are not always what stares us in the face. I cannot help but wonder if Pierre Teilhard de Chardin read this philosophy before making his bold statement that we are spiritual beings having a human experience.

What are the doors that exist between reality and the inner world that creates its premise? Remember, you cannot view reality from outside yourself. If we did, the mind would regard itself as insane. Outer reality must bend to the mind’s inner workings to make its presence felt. Therefore, in essence, we create the very facts that we experience.

My son the other day had a problem. He wishes to create a reality that is not yet present. Here I see patience, practice, and perseverance as being a primary topic of concern. He wants something now that is not present. However, to receive, there must be a ceremonial practice undertaken to create the means for the man he wishes to become. From this perspective of perseverance, a caterpillar becomes the butterfly, or a man emerges from the boy.

“Am I a man that dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?” Maybe I am both. The caterpillar of my soul years to return to that cacoon-like state so that it may emerge to take wandering flights of fancy to chase the heights of my dreams.

Namaste, my friends. May blessings find you on your journey to advance confidently in the direction of your dreams.

  1. Take it one wing beat further. What happens when your spiritual/dream world begins to share this worlds reality? To not only share it but to be indistinguishable from it. For some who have entered onto the path that takes them into Dementia this is their reality. I’m told that it’s scary.
