The hunger for love is much more difficult to remove than the hunger for bread.

Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive.

A Father’s Guide to Wisdom
What would the world be like, if we shifted our focus to loving intent? How could that one change effect the course of history? I can remember the longing eyes of mystery from which I viewed the world as a child. As an adult, I can only compare that pure bliss to the feelings of love I have for my family and friends. I see a growing hunger for love that surrounds us. This forces me to ponder; what world of difference could we create just by shifting our practice to include a little loving intent in our life?
There is true power behind love. It draws us to the open arms of faith. Both foster hope, or that powerful belief pattern that sees a world of possibility where only chaos seems to exist. But as we have drawn further away from faith and feelings of loving kindness, our simple capacity to engage in acts of its grandeur appears thwarted. Lately, it seems that humanity appears focused on what is wrong versus what is right, focused on feelings of negative frequency versus love. So what can we do about this?
The message of all Saints and spiritual leaders are clear. There is only one true emotion, and the sooner we learn ways to foster its presence in our life, the quicker we will realize its true healing powers. Love and compassion are necessities of life. Without them, the world is bleak and humanity will not survive. However, we need not complicate this very known fact, for love is simple to give.
Smile today. Show a person that you truly care. If you want to go one step further, meditate or pray with your focus on a person with whom you have loving intent. Your emotional world will shift, and you will find yourself in a much brighter state than when you first began the exercise.
