Inspirational Quote
“Truly, it is in the darkness that one finds the light, so when we are in sorrow, then this light is nearest of all to us.”
― Meister Eckhart
The Psychology Perspective

Today’s quote is from the German mystic, Meister Eckhart. He reminds us that in our darkest moments, we are nearest of all to the light that guides us. Some will call this light God. Others will view it as a transcendent function. Either way, it is in this place of shadows that the psyche (soul) can transcend its depths, and find the light within.
Any endeavor worth undertaking will be filled with ash-work. This is the monotonous sifting motion we must undertake through ritual to polish the rough corners of the psyche. However, while sifting through the ashes present, the darkness in this case, we often become subject to the glowing ambers of the soul.
