Christmas and Holiday Blessings from Dr. Tom

Words of Inspiration

“I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good-will to men!”
~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

A Personal Blessing

You cannot remove the subjective state from a scientist. Nor can the philosopher remove their inquiring nature from the essence of the mind that seeks to understand the world. As Wayne Dyer once stated,

When you squeeze an orange, you’ll always get orange juice to come out. What comes out is what’s inside. The same logic applies to you: when someone squeezes you, puts pressure on you, or says something unflattering or critical, and out of you comes anger, hatred, bitterness, tension, depression, or anxiety, that is what’s inside. If love and joy are what you want to give and receive, change your life by changing what’s inside.

Wayne Dyer

This year has shown me many challenges. Most of which have been blessings in disguise. Yes, at first, the anxiety factor may trickle up a notch. Still, as I understand it, this is all part of a growing journey to find a life story worthy of the life I feel called upon to lead.

As winter represents the apex of the Night Seas Journey, I am called to reflect upon the year that has now passed. I feel closer now to the values that drive my life, God, family, love, friendships, and a gentle willingness to engage that personal calling that yearns to see fruition.

This winter, holiday, and Christmas season, I wish you blessings. I know it may have been a challenging year for many. Still, together, we have navigated what I hope to be a little bit of Self-exploration outside the trappings of an ego-based psychology. We have seen beautiful words of wisdom from some very keen writers and philosophers. We have dug deep into the depths of the psyche to hopefully find a glowing ember at the bottom of the ash heap that life affords us. Yes, you cannot steer a ship along its course without a wake sweeping a windblown trail on the river of life, just as you cannot heat the passion of the soul without producing a little bit of ash.

We are now closing in on the end of 2021. I hope blessings have found you and maybe even a little fun. Take a moment, reflect on what was, and see if there is a shifting present just for a moment that calls you back to those values most inherent to your soul’s calling. This may just be a personal calling for your New Year.

Blessings, my friends. May your journeys bring you passion, light, and happiness as you advance confidently in the direction of your dreams.
