The quickest way for a parent to get a child’s attention is to sit down and look comfortable.
Dysfunction anyone? Wow, who would of thought that work would be such a welcome and novel idea.
Week one of being a home school teacher. Trying to figure out how to run a household, a business, teach, be a chef, housekeeper, and all the other day to day chores common to life amongst COVID 19. Face masks, rubber gloves, pots, and pans oh my…
I left teaching two decades ago when I became a psychotherapist. Working with children individually is pretty easy, unless they are your own, then they just gang up on you. But that is our lot in life. I didn’t know that raising two meant the exponentially multiplied? Oh well, children are much more apt to listen to complete strangers than to the the people that brought them into this world. But I am here to help you out if you have any psychological and/or parenting questions.
I wanted to bring some humor in today’s quotes, because we are all in this together. But there is silver lining here. Our children get to uniquely interact with us in a way that was not possible just two weeks prior. I am grateful for this time, and cherish the opportunity my children have to get to know their father on a more personal basis.
